Customer story
Strandwinkel
Everything for a day at the beach, from a self-built warehouse in De Lier.
About Strandwinkel
Strandwinkel, based in De Lier, sells everything you need for a day at the beach, from parasols to sun loungers. The business grew out of Strand Nederland, the umbrella organisation for all beach pavilions in the country. When trade fairs and magazines fell away during covid, Stephan and his team of six started selling a few products. That grew into a full webshop, with a showroom and warehouse they built entirely themselves.
The challenge
Strandwinkel already ran an inventory system, but used only about 10% of it. Stephan wanted to professionalise further and looked at expensive all-in-one systems, but doubted whether some providers actually delivered in practice. Meanwhile the order process was clunky: single-item orders and multi-product orders each had their own pick list, and the team kept switching between them.
The solution
After a one-month trial, Strandwinkel switched to ShopLinkr, with direct lines to the people who build the system themselves. The team now handles every order from one place. Single and multi-product orders sit in one pick list, which they prepare each morning in batches of 10, 20 or 30 orders. They no longer print packing slips; everything is digital. New staff and interns are up to speed within twenty minutes.
In their own words
New people can usually work with it within fifteen to twenty minutes. For us that is ideal.
Looking ahead
Stephan sees margins shrinking across the trade, and with them the time left for quality. His ambition points the other way: less throwaway, more durable products. He would rather sell a parasol that lasts five years than one that ends up in the bin after a season. Better quality for the customer, more enjoyment for the team, and a fair product for a fair price.
The result
€700 saved per year by handling packing slips digitally, and new staff are trained in under twenty minutes.
