Printing labels is a crucial step in your shipping process. When it doesn't go smoothly, it's frustrating. Here are some common problems and solutions to quickly get back on track.
Poor print quality: labels illegible or blurry
A poorly printed label can cause problems when scanning. To fix this:
Check the printer settings: Make sure you have the right speed and print density set. For Zebra printers, we recommend a speed of 2 and a density of 5.
Enable ZPL mode: In the printer settings within ShopLinkr, you can activate ZPL support. This ensures optimal print quality for Zebra printers.
No response from the printer
If your printer is not printing at all:
Restart PrintNode: Make sure PrintNode is active on your computer. Restart the program if necessary.
Check the packing station: Ensure you have selected the correct packing station in ShopLinkr, and that it is connected to the right printer.
Test a label in ShopLinkr: Try printing a test label directly from ShopLinkr. This helps determine whether the problem is with the printer or the system.
Duplicate or unexpected prints
Do you notice that labels are being printed twice or that unintended documents are being printed? This can happen when multiple users have activated PrintNode on the same computer. Make sure only one user is logged in and has PrintNode active.
Empty or skewed labels
If the printer is spitting out blank labels or printing labels skewed:
Calibrate the printer: Zebra printers sometimes have trouble recognizing the label format. Refer to your printer's manual for calibration steps.
Check the label roll: Ensure that the label roll is properly placed and that there is no dirt or obstructions in the printer.
