# Stock movements

> See a complete overview of every stock change for each product.

Every time a product's stock changes, it is recorded as a stock movement. That way you always have a complete overview of what happened to your stock and why.

### Where do you find stock movements?

Go to **Products**, open a product and go to the **Stock history** tab. Here you see all movements for that product, from newest to oldest.

### What do you see per movement?

The following information is shown for each movement:

- **Reason**: why the stock changed (see below)

- **Previous stock**: the quantity before the change

- **New stock**: the quantity after the change

- **Adjustment**: the difference (green for an increase, red for a decrease)

- [**Location**](/en/support/location-management): which warehouse location the change took place at

- **Date**: when the change took place

### Types of movements

The reason for a movement indicates what caused the stock to change. These are the types you may come across:

- **Stock updated**: a manual adjustment of the stock

- **Picked**: stock picked during the picking process

- **Order processed**: stock definitively written off after shipping

- **Order canceled**: reserved stock released again

- **Return**: stock put back in stock after a [return](/en/support/processing-a-return)

- **Delivery received**: stock added through a [delivery](/en/support/receiving-and-processing-a-delivery) from a supplier

- **Delivery reverted**: the receipt of a delivery undone

- **Moved**: stock [moved](/en/support/move-stock-between-locations) from one location to another

- **Correction**: an automatic correction by the system

- [**Stock count**](/en/support/stock-counts): an adjustment after a stock count

- **Stock synced**: stock taken over from a sales channel (this happens once, when a product is first retrieved from your sales channel)

- **Product missing during picking**: a stock adjustment because a product was not found during picking

- **Wrong quantity during picking**: a stock adjustment because a different quantity was found than expected

### Why is this useful?

Stock movements help you explain stock discrepancies. If a product's stock is not correct, the movements let you see exactly when and why the stock changed. That way you can quickly find out whether a mistake was made or whether there is another explanation.
