# Setting up packing stations

> Configure your packing stations with the right printer for a smooth packing process.

A packing station is a physical workspace in your warehouse where orders are packed and shipping labels are printed. By setting up packing stations in ShopLinkr, you link the right printer to each workspace. That way shipping labels are sent automatically to the correct printer.

### Creating a packing station

1. Go to **Settings > Packing stations**.

2. Click **Add packing station**.

3. Give the station a recognizable **name** (for example "Packing station 1").

4. Link the **shipping label printer** that belongs to this station.

5. Click **Save**.

### Selecting a packing station

Click your name in the bottom left and, under **Packing station**, choose the station you want to use.

Your choice is saved per browser. This means each device or browser can have its own packing station. For example, you can place a dedicated computer at each packing station, so the employee does not have to pick the packing station again every time.

### How does it work?

When you process an order, the shipping label is sent automatically to the printer that is linked to your selected packing station. This means you do not have to select a printer manually, and you avoid labels ending up at the wrong printer.

### Requirements

To use packing stations, you first need to have printers set up through AutoPrint. See [Setting up AutoPrint](/en/support/setting-up-autoprint) for more information about linking printers.
